Our History

• 2007

  JN Hire Ltd was established by James Norris in September 2007. James has over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry and has overseen many major contracts over the years. The shop itself, which is based at The Harbour in Kilkeel, started primarily as a Plant Hire company, hiring machinery such as diggers and dumpers to the local community whilst selling a small range of hand and power tools on the side.

• 2008

  JN Hire Ltd added Teng Tools to their inventory after having two large wall displays installed.

• 2009

  Another premium brand was added to our supply. Bahco Tools are now stocked at JN Hire Ltd after having two wall displays installed, providing more backbone to the company.

• 2012

  JN Hire proudly announced the availability of Gates Hydraulic Hose and fittings. This successful addition allows employees to make a range of custom hoses in our brand-new hydraulic department.

• 2013

  A good set of sturdy stairs was installed and our upstairs clothing department was ready for business!

• 2014

  The warehouse section of our building was transformed into an additional part of the shop…doubling the size of our downstairs shop and its display. We also secured the dealership of the Gardencare Range; taking on a large stock of lawnmowers, strimmers, hedge cutters, leaf blowers and more. Along with this we were pleased to announce that JN Hire Ltd is now a main dealer of the GRI Sport boot range!

• 2015

  JN Hire Ltd became stockists of the premium fishing garment range Grundens!

• 2016

  JN Hire Ltd became an official premium tool centre for Bahco Tools and installed three more metre stands into the shop! We also become a stockist of Hempel Paint to provide paint supplies to the Marine Industry at Kilkeel Harbour.

• 2017

  JN Hire Embroidery Department is introduced which is a huge development in our company’s history. We are proud to offer workwear, footwear, leisure clothing and casual wear, providing our customers with the option to customise their garments. Along with this we have now become an official distributor for Portwest Clothing & PPE.

• 2018

  We doubled our Teng Tools display on our shop floor along with expanding our range of oils, oil filters, spark plugs, aerosols and more!

• 2019

  Our website development is underway, in production and now, NI Supplies is established online and ready for business!
